Nutrilon baby formula shortage after warehouse fire

There has been a shortage of certain types of Nutrilon baby formula in Dutch stores for weeks. This is due to a fire at a Nutricia plant in Cuijk earlier this year. These products will not be available for sale for at least the rest of June. Producer Nutricia told NOS that the products involved are the H.A. hypoallergenic variants for babies with an increased risk of cow's milk allergy, the Omneo types against colic and Soy. According to the company, these products are still available on the Nutricia site. The most sold standard formula is still available in stores as usual. Because of the fire in Cuijk in February, the company has limited production capacity. The company is therefore currently only making the most essential formula, such as formula for premature babies and babies with severe milk allergy. According to NOS, Nutricia has not shared any information on why the products are not being delivered on the company's website, despite the fact that delivery stopped weeks ago. Stores have no explanation for customers on why their shelves are empty.
