Person tied to Amsterdam West killing turns self in

One of the three persons of interest in the assassination on De Clercqstraat, Amsterdam West on Wednesday, has turned himself in to the police. This is the man who was in the car with the victim. The police confirm that he is at the police station and being questioned by detectives. At about 00:15 a.m. on Wednesday several shots were fired on De Clercqstraat in front of the Tapas Village sisha bar, killing a 25 year old criminal from Zaandam. According to Het Parool, the victim of the assassination has been identified as Youssef el Khataoui. He lived in Zaandam, but originally came from Oost. According to witnesses, the perpetrators fled the scene of the crime on a scooter. The police released a photo on Wednesday afternoon showing the two suspects driving away on a scooter. The scooter fled the scene in the direction of Bellamystraat. Mayor Eberhard van der Laan ordered the closure of Tapas Village sisha bar, the city of Amsterdam announced on Wednesday. The cafe is believed to be a stronghold in the criminal underworld, frequently used for gang meetings.
