Upside-down riders rescued after carnival attraction breaks down

Seven people were stuck hanging upside down about 25 meters in the air when a carnival attraction, a Booster, broke down in Didam on Tuesday. Firefighters were able to free them after about 20 minutes. No one was injured. But one man did become unwell from hanging upside down for so long, Omroep Gelderland reports. Emergency services checked him on the spot and he did not have to go to the hospital. The attraction will have to remain closed until the Labor Inspectorate has completed its investigation. The rest of the carnival remained open. This incident happened on the last night of the 3 night Carnival. The municipality of Montferland told Omroep Gelderland that aftercare has been arranged for those affected.
