Dutch ambassador to India visits Nepal rescue base camp

On Wednesday the Dutch ambassador to India and Bhutan, Alphonsus Stoelinga, visited the search and rescue base camp in Kathmandu, Nepal. He went there to offer support. The Under Secretary General for Humanitarian and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Valerie Ann Amos also visited the camp. The 4 Dutch Urban Search and Rescue groups spent Wednesday searching various places in Bahrabise, where locals told them dozens of people are still missing. The teams discovered a number of deceased victims. During the afternoon the bloodhounds of two of the Dutch teams and one of an Israeli rescue team signaled that they found something during a search in Bhaktapur. Despite extensive digging, no living victims were found. Colleagues from an American team had more success and rescued a teenager alive from the rubble.
