Teen girl seriously hurt by thrown brick
A 15 year old girl was severely wounded in Tilburg just after midnight on Sunday when she was hit in the head by a thrown brick, the police report. The brick was thrown by an as of yet unidentified young man. The police are still looking for the culprit.
The girl was on the back of her 16 year old friend's bicycle. The two girls were riding on the Ringbaan-West in the direction of Wandelboslaan when they saw a yon man walking with a large brick in his hands. He suddenly threw the brick towards the girl. It hit the 16 year old girl on the arm and she fell off her bike. When she looked around, she saw her friend lying on the ground with a bloodied face. The police believe that the brick hit her in the head. She was taken to the hospital per ambulance as doing reasonably well under the circumstances.
A short time earlier, at around 23:45 on Saturday night, the police received a report that a car had been damaged by a brick on Kwaadendsestraat. The car had been scratched and the windows were smashed. The police suspect that the same offender is responsible for both the damaged car and the injured girl.
In both incidents that suspect is a young white male in his early twenties. He is about 1.8 meters tall and wore a hat. The police would like to make contact with anyone who may have witnessed these crimes or saw the suspect walking, for example on the Ringbaan-West, near De Rooi Pannen or in the area of Kwaadeindsestraat.
