Dutch firm to restore Rome fountain

The Dutch company Konklijke Woudenberg will repair one of the more than 400 fountains in Rome that has historical value in a gesture of good faith after the damage caused by Feyenoord supporters last month, AD Reports. This decision was made after consultation with the local authorities. The famous Barcaccia fountain was damaged in the riots. The Koninklijke Woudenberg initially offered to repair this fountain, but the Italians had already started with the repairs. "It was therefore decided to focus on another fountain", a spokesperson for the company told the newspaper. The initiative to raise money for repairs came from the association Salviamo la Barcaccia, which consists of a group of Dutch people living in Italy. Thus far they have raised 22,500 euros.
