Poll before Justice resignations has coalition losing Senate

With only a week before the provincial elections, the coalition parties have lost their majority in the Eerste Kamer (Senate) in the latest poll. The VVD and PvdA along with the D66, ChristenUnie and SGP (constructive three) have a total of 33 seats, five to few for a majority. This is according to De Stemming, EenVandaag's political poll. The poll was taken before the resignation of VVD members Minister Ivo Opstelten and State Secretary Fred Teeven, both form the Ministry of Security and Justice. Compared to the previous poll three weeks ago, the VVD and PvdA remained stable with 11 and 6 seats respectively - 13 fewer seats than they currently have in the Eerste Kamer. The D66 lost 1 seat and ended up with 10 seats, double of what they currently have in the Eerste Kamer. The ChristenUnie and SGP remained stable at 4 and 2 seats respectively. The PVV remains the largest party in De Stemming with a virtual 12 seats in the Eerste Kamer.
