Prime Minister to debate Justice dept. resignations in Parliament

The debate on the deal that (now former) State Secretary Fred Teeven (Security and Justice, VVD) made with drug criminal Cees H. will still happen this afternoon, despite the resignations of Teeven and Minister Ivo Opstelten (Security and Justice, VVD). The Tweede Kamer (lower house of parliament) will now have the debate with Prime Minister Mark Rutte (VVD). Minister Ivo Opstelten and State Secretary Fred Teeven resigned last night because of this issue. According to several parliamentarians, these resignations raise even more questions that need to be answered. The session in the Tweede Kamer is scheduled to start at 17:00 this afternoon.
