Extra security funding talks on Friday
The Council of Ministers will discuss possible extra funding for security services today.
According to NRC, the Cabinet wants to make extra money available for security services and measures to prevent jihadism and radicalization. There is talk about a limited increase in the budget for this year, which could increase in subsequent years to an extra 100 million euros in 2020.
Up until now Prime Minister Mark Rutte has stated that extra money for the police and marechaussee (military police) is unnecessary, but that the Cabinet would make more money available the moment that it is needed.
