Rotterdam metro shooter gets 12 years in prison
The 35 year old Rotterdam resident M.M.A. has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting a man and threatening another man with a firearm in a busy Rotterdam metro station.
The court in The Hague found the defendant guilty of attempted murder, threatening and firearm possession.
The incident occurred at 19:45 p.m. in the Slinge metro station in Rotterdam on January 30th, 2013. The suspect and the victims knew each other from Curacao, the motive for the shooting is unclear.
The shot victim was hit in the chest and arm. He was seriously injured, but survived the incident, according to De Telegraaf. A camera at the entrance to the metro station caught the defendant threatening the other victim on tape.
