Aruba revisiting Natalee Holloway burial claim

Investigators in Aruba are looking into newly-revealed claims that American teenager Natalee Holloway was seen with Joran van der Sloot at a Marriott hotel construction site the night she went missing. The former public prosecutor there had previously written off the lead, suggesting it was not credible enough to warrant use of the island's resources. New prosecutor Eric Olthof, in office since late last summer, is reviewing the lead and case file, a spokesperson told RTL Nieuws. Holloway's father had also reported smelling a stench like a rotten animal near the location, AD reported. Amsterdammer Jurriën Auke de Jong said he saw the pair entering a crawl space at the site while he was involved in illegal drug activity nearby, according to newspaper AD. However, Van der Sloot was alone when he left the scene, the tipster claims. Van der Sloot is currently serving a prison sentence for the murder of his girlfriend in Peru.
