Dutch team back at MH17 crash site
A Dutch defense team is back on the scene of the flight MH17 disaster in eastern Ukraine. The team left from Donetsk this morning.
The war in the east of the country has flared in recent weeks, but the disaster area is relatively safe at present, according to David Jan Godfroid, a correspondent for Dutch public broadcaster NOS. The Dutch investigators are trying to retrieve remains. The Netherlands Forensic Institute has already identified 295 of the 298 victims. No human remains have been found of the last three unidentified victims, who are all Dutch.
The defense team also wants to retrieve the remains of the aircraft that have been found by locals. Those pieces of wreckage are being stored in Kharkov for the time being.
