Criminal's house fire an assassination attempt: report
The fire in a farmhouse in Zwaag, Noord-Holland on Tuesday night seems to have been an assassination attempt on top criminal Nico V., an alleged assassin on Heineken-kidnapper Cor van Hout.
Allegedly two strangers on an unlit vehicle through firebombs through the windows of V.'s house on Dorpstraat in Zwaag. Two of V.'s (girl)friends, with whom he has several children, lived in the now burnt out farm house. Miraculously, no one was injured in the fie.
This is the third time in a week that the Amsterdam underworld is shaken by an assassination attempt. Last week in Istanbul, Turkey the Dutch-Turkish criminals Ali A. and Vedat S. were shot and killed. A. was a prime suspect in the Amsterdam Passage process.
Nico V. has been in the judiciary's cross-hairs for years because of a failed assassination attempt on Cor van Hout in 2000. Although he lives in Zwaag, V. may be counted among the top ten of Amsterdam criminals since the death of Klaas Bruinsma.
