Feyenoord stadium could expand to 76,000 seats

The renewed Kuip could possibly accommodate 76 thousand spectators. One of the variants that builder BAM offered Feyenoord involves 70 thousand seats and 6 thousand standing places. "In that case, the second ring will be extra extended by three or four rows. The stadium will then be a few million euros more expensive." said project director Hans Vervat. In May Feyenoord and BAM agreed that the transformation of the monumental stadium will cost 200 million euro. The builder also presented a slightly slimmed complex with nearly 64 thousand seats and 6 thousand standing places. There will be folding chairs in these standing places because international football associations require that everyone should have a seat.
