Some 2,300 kg illegal fireworks pulled from Leiden home

On Wednesday the police found more than 2,300 kilograms of illegal fireworks on Vlietweg in Leiden. A 31 year old man from Voorschoten was arrested. The police were led to this stash of fireworks after arresting a 44 year old man from the Hague and a 45 year old man from Leiden on Tuesday for trafficking in illegal fireworks. Fireworks were also found in the house of the 44 year old suspect. The police found more than 2,300 kilograms of illegal fireworks stored in a shed on Vlietweg. The fireworks were seized and transferred to a secure location to be destroyed. The 31 year old man on the premises was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning.
