Sheep "arrested" for blocking traffic

A stray sheep that wandered onto a Frisian highway was "arrested" after drivers reported the animal running loose. Drachten district police responded to the N31 just west of Nijega at about 9am on Friday and found the farm animal delaying traffic. The stray sheep was picked up, lifted into the back of police officer's vehicle, and the provincial highway was re-opened. Drachten police have reported that the animal was safely returned to the owner's pastures.
