Man gunned down, killed in Zwolle

Residents in a neighborhood of Zwolle were shocked to hear around fifteen shots fired in the street Wednesday morning. An unknown gunman fired on a 48-year old man sitting in his car. The man was brought to hospital where he died from his wounds, the NOS reports. The victim's car was hit with a barrage of bullets, and came to a stop in front of a house. "We heard shots just before six o'clock, went downstairs and saw the car standing against the front of our house", a resident tells Radio 2. "The victim is a neighbor from across the road." The resident called the police, who showed up within three minutes. He says that the officers tried to reanimate the man, who was wounded but no longer responsive. He was transported to hospital where police report he passed away from his injuries. The street has been blocked off pending a forensic investigation. Police are looking for the suspect in the Stadshagen neighborhood of Zwolle. They believe he may have escaped in a vehicle.
