Woman and dog hit by car, killed

A 25-year old woman from Enschede died on Saturday night after being hit by a car on the Zuid Esmarkerrondweg.  She was crossing the road when a 23-year old man from Enschede hit her with his car, she died on the spot. The man has been apprehended by the police. The woman was walking her dog with her boyfriend at around 1:20 a.m., the dog was also killed in the collision. A breathalyzer test revealed that the man may have been driving under the influence of alcohol. A blood test will confirm this. The 23-year old man was also driving with speed in a 50 kilometer per hour zone, this is also being investigated. The driver is awaiting trial and closer investigating. His driver's license has been taken away due to the severity of the incident. The woman's boyfriend saw the accident happen. He is with friends and family members.
