New flag for first King's Day

A special flag has been made for the first King's Day in The Netherlands by Dokkumer Vlaggen Centrale (DVC). The DVC designed the flag themselves. The design is based around the flag that was made for the coronation last year. More than 60,000 pieces were sold in 3 months time, according to the DVC.

The flag depicts a profile of the King in orange, with the text 'koningsdag' next to it, and the Dutch flag in the background. The first hundred flags have already been sold. King's Day will be held on the 26th of April this year, because the birthday of King Willem-Alexander will fall on a Sunday on the 27th of April.
