Amsterdam shooting tied to underworld

A shooting incident Thursday afternoon on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal left a 40-year-old Russian wounded. The victim underwent surgery and is stable. Police have not been able to question the victim yet, but think the shooting may be related to a business dispute in the criminal circuit. No arrests have been made so far. The Russian had just arrived in Amsterdam when he was shot in a building on the Nieuwezijds. The gunman fled toward Amsterdam Central Station. Police are searching for a white male wearing overalls about 30 to 35-years-old, between 1.80 and 1.85 meters tall.
