Missing prisoner convicted of rape, murder
A prisoner, who was reported missing early Monday morning, was found in a shed on the premises of the prison in Vught. The prisoner was immediately transferred to the High Security Facility, also in Vught.
The escaped prisoner was 41-years-old when he was sentenced to 15 year in prison, with compulsory treatment, in 2006, for the murder and rape of Melanie Sijbers from Geldrop, confirmed well informed sources to the Brabants Dagblad.
The man was a prisoner in Unit 2, a penitentiary psychiatric center. A large-scale search was issued as soon as he was noticed missing, with assault teams, a police helicopter, firefighters, sniffer dogs, and ambulances.
