Dominican apprehended for killing Dutch woman
A 25-year old man from the Dominican Republic has admitted to murdering a Dutch woman last year in the Caribbean country, the Dominican police report Tuesday.
The Dutch woman was killed in July of last year in the north-eastern Cabrera, where she had a health resort.
The man was apprehended on Monday, after he held a woman and five children hostage for hours. He demanded money in return for their release. The police overpowered him and released the hostages.
During the hearing, the man admitted that he killed the Dutch woman last year. After the murder, he took 100,000 pesos (around €1700) with him from her house.
