Drunk car thieves busted after gas heist

Schiedam police arrested two men in the night of Sunday on Monday around 02:30, after they filled up a car they had stolen the day before in Maassluis and took off without paying. When police spotted the car, the suspects tried to flee. The chase that followed ended with the car crashing into a tree on the Jan Klijnestraat. The suspects, two 22-year-old Schiedam locals, tried to flee on foot, but were overtaken by the police. Both suspects were taken to the police station where it turned out the driver was intoxicated as well. Police are investigating the case.
