Ajax/Feyenoord away fans ban remains effective

The ban on away supporters of Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam will not be lifted during the next two matches between the clubs. Feyenoord Helicopter / Wikipedia Amsterdam Mayor Eberhard van der Laan and Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Abou Taleb have decided to continue away fan ban after talking with the clubs, the Dutch Football Federation and the police, Parool reported Wednesday. The two rivals will meet in the Dutch Cup in Amsterdam ArenA in next two weeks and in a league match in De Kui, Rotterdam on March 2. The five-year ban was imposed in 2009 by the mayors of both cities after several violent and offensive chants between fans. In November 2013, police arrested 12 men who misbehaved around Ajax matches. The defendants were charged with public violence. Some of the hooligans misbehaved on November 5 before the Celtics game. They attacked a group of Scottish fans in the center of Amsterdam.
