Katy Perry won the hotly-contested title of best female. She beat Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. Lady Gaga did not attend the event as she is due to launch her “ARTPOP” album in New York City. Eminem was the only artist who received two awards, EMA Global Icon and Best Hip Hop. MTV created a Press Asset Hub, where embed codes for clips of the show, red carpet, and promo videos are available.
