Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to demand release
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet received official confirmation that Russia weakens the indictment against the 30 arrested Greenpeace activists. The new developments do not matter much to Minister Timmermans. Netherlands remains committed to the immediate release of the crew and release of the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise.
Greenpeace is not reassured about the news. The organization calls the new charges of vandalism, rather than piracy, bizarre.

Mz The 30 activists are just as likely hooligans as they are pirates. Greenpeace will keep fighting these new charges of vandalism just as fervently as they are those of piracy. The organization calls the accusations an attack on the principle of peaceful protest. Greenpeace Netherlands said on Twitter that it is not yet clear whether this is good news. Vandalism can also incur a substantial punishment in Russia.
