Netflix NL Takes Disney VOD

Netflix has signed an agreement with Disney to get exclusive subscription video-on-demand rights for Disney’s additional animated and live action films in the Netherlands. The multi-year deal will take effect in 2014 and includes both new and library product and features titles from all of Disney's studios, according to Hollywood Reporter. Under the deal, Netflix will receive exclusive subscription VOD rights for live-action and animated movies, including Marvel’s The Avengers, Pixar’s Monsters University, and The Lone Ranger. The deal also covers library titles including The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Ratatouille and WALL-E, as well as ABC’s Lost and other shows.

Last month, Netflix launched its new streaming service in the Netherlands. The company will offer Dutch service at €7.99 per month.
