Don’t Miss The Uitmarkt Next Week

The Uitmarkt this year's theme is ‘new talent’. There are performances by winners of talent shows such as the SENA Performers POPnl Award and the Princess Christina concourse. That was announced by the organization on Wednesday during a presentation at the Concert building in Amsterdam. For the first time, this year Manuscripta is included in the Uitmarkt, the annual opening of the book season. On Saturday and Sunday, authors such as Herman Brusselmans, Arthur Japin and Nico Dijkshoorn will show up at the Museumplein (Museum Square). They will present their latest books, give signings and participate in debates and interviews. In addition to all the newcomers, there is also plenty of familiar faces to be seen at the Uitmarkt of this year. So are there performances by Freek de Jonge and Laura Jansen and will Liesbeth List and Rob de Nijs bring a tribute to Ramses Shaffy. The Uitmarkt The Uitmarkt will start next Friday for the 36th time in Amsterdam and is traditionally the start of the new cultural season. From August 30 to September 1, the festival will again take place around the Museumplein and one can find many visitors partying around the Leidseplein (Leidse Square). The annual cultural event attracts nearly half a million visitors, making it the largest of its kind in the Netherlands.
