Royal Dutch Shell’s New CEO

Royal Dutch Shell PLC announced that Director Ben van Beurden will take over the CEO position of Swiss Peter Voser following Voser’s retirement in 2013. thisisbossi/flickr The endorsement of Van Beurden is a comeback for a Dutchman to acquire the top executive position of the Netherlands-British international corporation. The company's chairman Jorma Ollila says the 55-year-old Van Beurden knows a lot about the business and has an established managerial experience in various Shell industries. Van Beurden worked for the petroleum industry in different branches across Europe, Asia, the United States, and Africa. On Tuesday, the oil giant announced that Van Beurden will replace Voser on January 1, 2014. Voser, who worked for 29 years with Shell, will leave the company at the end of March next year.
