UEFA Women: Three Members Out

Three members of the Netherlands Women’s team are officially out of the UEFA Women's EURO 2013, according to UEFA. Coach Roger Reijners removed Maayke Heuver, Merel van Dongen, and Kika van Es from his draft list. On Saturday, the Oranje defeated Australia (3-1). The day after their victory, Reijners announced the 23 players who are moving forward to Sweden 2013, letting go of Heuver, Van Dongen, and Van Es. Great Beyond/flickr Initially, Reijners opted for a temporary 31-team member selection. Ellen Jansen, Tessel Middag, Kelly Zeeman, and Marije Brummel were the players eliminated from the list while goalkeeper Laura Du Ry exited due to a shoulder injury. At the moment, Reijners is paying attention on the development of his team. He said the squad is on the right track; however, they need to get better to reach the top of the European match. He said they need to improve on everything and they are working on it. He also said both the Dutch and international women’s football have grown a lot. He believes Germany, Norway, and Iceland are strong competitions and the upcoming matches are crucial for them to get to the quarter finals.
