Arrests: 135, Highest fine: 1300 euro

On the eve of Queen's Day and on the day itself the police arrested 135 people. Public drunkenness was the most common offense. According to the public Prosecution, Openbaar Ministerie (OM), this year’s Queen's Day was festive and calm with fewer incidents than the year before. In 2012 the police arrested 220 people. RTL.nl reported that the police handled the vast majority of cases themselves. Most of the arrested received a fine. The highest one was for selling pistols will small balls, which was prohibited under the Weapons Act. The German seller had to pay 1300 euro. Other common violations were possession of drugs, disturbances or destruction.
