Don't-Call-Me-Register Works

The number of complaints about unsolicited phone calls decreased by 38 percent to 8,332 in 2012. This means that the Dutch don’t-call-me-register, the Bel-me-niet-register, works. Zsolt Szabó, chairman of the organization that developed the register, said this on Friday. RTL.nl reported that Infofilter introduced the list in 2009 to protect users against unwanted sales calls. Organizations are only allowed to call their own customers, and they are obliged to play a tape, after which customers can object.
