Fire in Rotterdam Kills 1

One person died in a fire in an apartment block in Rotterdam on Monday. Around noon four fire trucks were sent to the Oldegaarde in the Charlois district. The identity of the victim remains unknown. According to the police, the victim supposedly died from smoke inhalation when fire started in his residence on the fourth floor. Residents of five surrounding houses were evacuated. RTL.nl reported that the fire department was able to put the fire under control at 1.15 pm. The cause remains unknown.
