A 26-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Brunssum, Limburg on Tuesday night. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. No arrests have been made, NU.nl reports.

Six people were arrested after an explosion at an ATM rocked Roermond just after midnight on Monday morning. Six people were arrested, all aged between 21 and 27.

Six poultry farmers were sentenced to prison and community service for committing fraud with their poultry rights. They kept more poultry and produced more manure than they had permits for. They must also pay the illegal profits they made back to the State, totaling in an amount of 860 thousand euros, NOS reports.
According to the judge, the farmers all violated the Fertilizers Act, which is intended to reduce the surplus manure and livestock containment in order to protect the environment. By doing so they created unfair competition.
Six men were found tied up in the warehouse of a transport company in Susteren, Limburg on Tuesday night. The police were led to the warehouse by a blood covered man. Exactly what happened in the building, and why the six men were tied up, is not yet clear, NOS reports.
The blood-covered man showed up at a home on Baakhovenerweg at around 10:40 p.m. asking for help. Before arriving at the home, he had crashed a car with Polish license plates through the gate of the warehouse, according to the broadcaster. The car ended up in a meadow and the man could drive no further.
Police across the Netherlands raided 29 separate locations they suspected were tied to the illegal cannabis trade. Investigators took 14 people into custody, and they confiscated 1,600 marijuana plants and 2,900 plant cuttings.
Police also seized 14 cars and motorcycles worth €165,000, and €25,000 in cash. Computers and smart devices were taken in as evidence, along with tasers and conventional weapons.

A 40-year-old police officer from the Zuid-West-Limburg district was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of computer intrusion and leaking police information, violation of official confidentiality, the Public Prosecutor announced.
So far the Prosecutor has no indications that the police officer leaked information to criminals or criminal organizations. "The investigation is still ongoing", the Prosecutor said.
The officer will be arraigned on Friday.
An increasing number of cranes are nesting and breeding in the Netherlands, according to bird protection organization Vogelbescherming. This year a record number of 32 breeding pairs were counted, 10 more than last year and four times as many as in 2014.
Most cranes were spotted in Drenthe and Friesland as in previous years. But this year cranes were also found breeding in Noord-Brabant and Limburg for the first time. Twelve of the 32 breeding pairs actually hatched chicks.

A woman fell through the sidewalk in the Limburg village of Merkelbeek, near Brunssum, on Friday morning. She was walking with her husband when the ground suddenly sank away beneath her. She was injured, NOS reports.
The sinkhole was caused by sand being washed away by a leak, the fire brigade and Water Maatschappij Limburg confirmed. "There was an underground leak" a spokesperson for WML said to the broadcaster. "As a result it was impossible to see that there was a hole. The woman indeed fell through it and was taken to hospital with unknown injuries."
The police arrested two men in Limburg for suspected involvement in the death of a Belgian police officer in Spa during the early hours of Sunday morning, the Public Prosecutor in Verviers said on Monday. Belgium will request their extradition, De Limburger reports.

Two people were injured in a stabbing on Broekhuizenstraat in the Limburg town of Landgraaf on Tuesday evening. One victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 65-year-old man was arrested as a suspect.
