On Friday Facebook launched its library of political advertisements for the Netherlands and the other European Union member states. In this ad library, users can find advertisements from political parties and on political topics. The library is Facebook's response to pressure from EU policy makers to be more transparent about political advertisements on social media, NU.nl reports.

People in the Netherlands are less concerned about salary differences between men and women than people in the rest of Europe, according to a study by HR and salary service provider ADP. In Europe 60 percent of employees said they would consider looking for a new job if it was clear that women at their current job earn less than men. In the Netherlands only half of respondents said they would do so, AD reports.

Charles van der Voort, the Chief Public Prosecutor in Zeeland-West-Brabant, is resigning as of November 15th. At the Public Prosecutor's office there has long been complaints about a poor working atmosphere and a lack of transparency, NOS reports.

The national management of the Public Prosecution Service launched an investigation into the Zeeland-West-Brabant office last year. That investigation was recently completed and the results were discussed with the management at the regional office, but will not be made public for the time being.

D66 leader Alexander Pechtold responded defensively to a commotion that arose around a beach home apartment in Scheveningen, The Hague that he received as a gift from a former Canadian diplomat. According to Pechtold, the apartment, worth 135 thousand euros, was a private gift from an old family friend and therefore does not have to be registered with the Tweede Kamer gift register, RTL Nieuws reports.

Alternative taxi company Uber started a petition in order to save its court-banned function UberPOP, the firm writes on their website. The petition drew nearly 10,800 supporters by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and it will be submitted to Infrastructure and Environment Secretary Wilma Mansveld.
