Amusement park Efteling may be the target of an attack by terrorist organization Islamic State or those who sympathize with the group. In June the police arrested a woman in June, who sympathizes with ISIS. She and others discussed plans to attack the amusement park, BN De Stem reports based on their own research and insight into the police file regarding the woman.
Two young Arnhem men were sentenced to prison for trying to join and participate in a terrorist organization in Syria
The Public Prosecutor in Arnhem on appeal demanded 30 months in prison, 10 of which conditionally suspended, and a probation period of two years against two suspected jihadists. The prosecutor believes that the men intended to travel to Syria to participate in the armed struggle and commit various crimes with terrorist intent.
Forty suspected jihadists are roaming about the Netherlands under the supervision of the probation service, or managed to sneak off to Syria.
A number of suspected jihadists are turning to the court to complain about the "humiliating situations" in which they must undress and lift their genitals to be searched each time they have contact with the outside world. The suspects want a milder regime, or at least one that is personally tailored to them
Utrecht has been monitoring 19 alleged jihadists, Mayor Jan van Zanen wrote in a letter to the city council. According to information released by news portal DUIC on Wednesday, six are radicalized Utrecht residents who have gone abroad, nine have returned from abroad, two have been held from leaving the city and another couple have since died.
