Last year aid organization Doctors Without Borders handled 24 cases of employees being involved in sexual harassment or abuse, seven of which fell under the responsibility of the Dutch division of the charity. Twenty of these aid workers were dismissed, including five that fall under the Netherlands, RTL Nieuws reports.
Roughly 75 percent of adult-aged men in the Netherlands say they have never engaged in any form of sexual misconduct, a new survey conducted by newspaper AD reveals. Over 300 men were questioned in the survey, conducted as six weeks of high profile reporting has detailed sexual abuse and harassment allegations against prominent international and Dutch figures.
About one of every seven countered said they could not be sure if they did or did not cross a boundary, answering, “I can not be the judge of that.”
Nyenrode Business University is investigating the conduct of director Anton Busselman after the Amsterdam branch of the private university complained about his behavior during a recent study tour to China, NRC reports based on the complaint which the paper has in its possession. Busselman decided to step down indefinitely due to this investigation.
