Numerous schools contacted software company Afas after it donated 300,000 euros and new computers to the Hugo Grotius School in Rotterdam. The company's phone rang constantly beginning early on Monday morning with more schools asking for a sponsorship contract, newspaper AD reported.
Dutch software platform AppMachine received a 15.2 million US dollar investment from one of the largest online services providers, Endurance International Group. The investor receives 40 percent of the Heerenveen, Friesland firm's shares in the deal with Endurance having the option to increase share ownership over time, they announced on Tuesday.
California-based Google has donated $1 million to Amsterdam’s science museum NEMO as part of funding for an interactive exhibition to "inspire the youth and make them enthusiastic about mathematics and programming.” Google hopes that the donation will go towards supporting and developing talented individuals in the field of science and technology, the company said.
