Minister Edith Schippers of Public Health believes the own risk healthcare deductibles of at least 385 euros per year are "quite justifiable", she said in NRC on Monday. According to her, parties speaking out against the deductibles are "not giving a fair representation of the situation."
GroenLinks wants to get rid of healthcare deductibles, according to the party's election campaign. "Being sick is not deductible", the campaign, which will be fully revealed on Tuesday, reads according to RTL Nieuws.
More people in the Netherlands in 2014 chose to pay lower monthly health insurance premiums, risking a higher own cost for medical care, than a year earlier. About 12 percent of policy-holders chose cheaper plans, broadcaster NOS reported.
