A majority in the Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, wants to hold a parliamentary inquiry to gain more information on what is going on in the Panama Papers. The parliamentarians want to know more about tax structures that run through the Netherlands.
The Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament, will investigate whether it is possible to stop Parliament Members who split off from their own faction from starting a new faction, NU reports. This is due to the dissatisfaction in the Kamer with the possibilities that parliamentarians have to split off and then continue independently or team up with another loner to form a new faction.
The former 50PLUS Parliament Member Norbert Klein has formed his own party - the Vrijzinnige Partij (Freethinking Party). Since his departure from 50PLUS, the Parliamentarian from Hoevelaken continued under the name KLEIN, but this has now changed.
Senior party 50Plus is currently in a state of chaos. After an "irreparable breach of trust", fraction leader Norbert Klein kicked his colleague Martine Baay from the fraction on Wednesday. The party has now denounced its trust in Norbert Klein. Baay is continuing in Parliament under her own name, and Klein is continuing as only MP for 50Plus.
Members of Parliament are preparing for a debate ,Wednesday, with State Secretary of Finances, Frans Weekers, about the delay of rent, healthcare and other benefits. Norbert Klein (50Plus) had turned in a motion, which got support from all other fractions.
The Krol affair costs 50Plus 5 virtual seats according to the poll of Maurice de Hond. Krol left the House on Friday after the Volkskrant reported that in his previous function, as chief editor of the Gaykrant, he was responsible for evading pension payments for his personnel.
Although the number of virtual seats is still three more than 50Plus has in the House, it are 13 seats less then the highest score in a poll about half a year ago. The loss opposite last week’s poll is five virtual seats.
