Parents trying to call their kids in sick at two Amsterdam schools were stunned when they were connected with a sex worker booking service instead of school administrators. The staff at the Amsterdam Lyceum and the Montessori Lyceum secondary schools think the switch is the result of a prank by students celebrating the coming end of the academic year, AT5 reported
The Montessori Lyceum on Van Ostadestraat in Amsterdam set up a meorial place for 13-year-old student Ouahib Omri, who died this weekend after inhaling lighter fluid. Amsterdam Mayor Eberhard van der Laan is giving Ouahib's family financial support so that the boy can be buried in Morocco as the family wants.
A 13-year-old boy died in Amsterdam on Sunday after inhaling lighter fluid with his friends. The boy fell unconscious around 4:30 p.m. at his friend's house on Haarlemmerstraat in the center of the city. The friend's father tried to resuscitate the boy, but to no avail. He died at the scene, a spokesperson for the Amsterdam police confirmed to AD.
According to an autopsy on the boy's body, he went into cardiac arrest after inhaling the lighter fluid. Both families are dismayed, the police said.
The Hague school Montessori Lyceum is "baffled" by the death of their student Vera Mol, the 17 year old girl who died in a bungee jumping accident in Spain on Monday. Mol would have started her final year at the school in a week and a half.
