An employee of the police was suspended in a malpractice investigation into police union ANPV, a police spokesperson confirmed to ANP. Two former board members of the union are suspects in this case.

The police spokesperson would not tell ANP who the suspended employee is. The Telegraaf identifies the employee as Leatitia R., a former board member of ANPV who is currently working with job applicants at the police. According to the newspaper, she is suspected of embezzlement, money laundering and forgery.

Healthcare insurer DSW states that Healthcare Inspection has neglected for years to halt the practices of the 'horror-dentist' Mark van N. from The Hague, despite efforts from DSW, on three separate occasions in 2004, 2006 and 2007, to alert the Inspectors to the malpractice, the Algmeen Dagblad reports.

A Dutch dentist was arrested in Canada last week on grounds of patient mutilation in France. In the first statement that dentist Mark van N. made, he made no mention of the mutilation accusation, and instead suddenly confessed to the murder of his wife in The Netherlands in 2006. He was deported from Canada to The Netherlands, and was arrested on arrival Sunday, CBC News reports.
