Over the past days the Belgian police arrested three people suspected of money laundering via bitcoins. One of the suspects is a 24-year-old Dutch man called Tommie V., the Telegraaf reports. He was arrested on Saturday.

An ATM bombing in Germany early on Tuesday morning, ended in a car crash in the city of Utrecht. The perpetrators fled afoot and the police are still looking for them, AD reports.

The bombing happened in Wessel, a few dozen kilometers from the border at Arnhem. The German police gave chase and called in their Dutch colleagues when the Audi the perpetrators were driving crossed the border into the Netherlands.

Dutch voters want a strong leader that will get things done, but within the democratic rules, according to a large-scale poll on populism by international poller Kantar Public. The researchers questioned representative groups in the Netherlands, France, Germany and Great Britain. They concluded that Germans are the least susceptible to populism, the French and English the most. The Netherlands is in between, the Volkskrant reports.

More tourists from Germany and Belgium will be spending their summer holiday in the Netherlands this year, the Telegraaf reports after speaking with several Dutch holiday and tourism organizations.

The national office for tourism and congresses NBTC expects 3.6 foreign tourists in the Netherlands this summer. A third of them are German, and 15 percent are Belgian. Some 4.7 million Dutch will stay in the Netherlands for holiday, according to the NBTC.

At least two Dutch people were arrested in Germany in connection with riots around the G20 summit in Hamburg over the weekend, the Hamburg police confirmed, according to RTL Nieuws.

One of the Dutch detainees is a 33-year-old man from Nijmegen. He was still in custody by Tuesday night. The man asked for assistance from the Netherlands and is receiving that from the Dutch consulate in Dusseldorf, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said to the broadcaster.

Three Almelo children spent two and a half hours terrified in a taxi on Monday. The taxi driver picked them up to take them to school in Enschede, but instead drove them to Germany. 12-year-old Kiki Kuitert managed to let her mom know what was happening and begged the driver to drive more carefully and pull over after he hit at least two guardrails, mother Hilleke Kuitert writes on Facebook.

The police have new evidence that three members of former German leftist extremist group Rote Armee Fraktion (RAF) were recently hiding in the Netherlands, and may still be here. In one getaway car used by the members, the German police found a piece of Dutch newspaper. According to the Dutch police, this seems to "confirm that they are hiding in our country", NU.nl reports.

In the run-up to the G20 summit in Hamburg next weekend, Germany implemented extensive border checks in Aachen, on the border with the Netherlands and Belgium on Monday. The German authorities expect around 100 thousand people to come to Hamburg to protest against the conference, ANP reports.

The German authorities deployed about 100 police officers do perform border controls. The measure was taken to prevent potential attackers from entering the country, according to the Interior Ministry. Border checks will be implemented in more places in the coming week and a half.

The United States is pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, president Donald Trump announced in a statement at the White House on Thursday afternoon, local time. The Netherlands deplores this decision, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said in response. Our country and the rest of the world remains committed to battling climate change, he stressed. Foreign Affairs Minister Bert Koenders called Trump's decision a "cardinal error", Environment State Secretary Sharon Dijksma called it a "historic mistake".

A dangerous and potentially armed man escaped from a psychiatric facility in Germany, just across the border rom Nijmegen, on Thursday, the police in Kleve, Germany warned on Friday. Sources in the institution describe Krischan Fischer as unpredictable and dangerous, ANP reports.

The 35-year-old man attacked another detainee and two employees in the LVR clinic in Bedburg-Hau on Thursday evening, according to the Gelderlander. He then escaped by climbing over a four meter high wall.

NATO is joining the coalition fighting against terrorist organization ISIS in Syria and Iraq, the 28 NATO member states decided on Wednesday. Three young children disappeared from Enschede on Friday afternoon. The police believe their Syrian father kidnapped them and that they are currently in Germany. 

The kids are Hassan Jasem (5), brother Nazih (4) and their sister Alma (2). All three of them have black hair and brown eyes. Hassan was wearing a blue and white check shirt with blue jeans when he disappeared. Nazih was wearing a white T-shirt with gray sleeves and a Disney Frozen logo, jeans and blue shoes. Alma was wearing a shirt with a picture of a rabbit on it, gray pants and a gray jacket.

Nearly three years after the , relatives of the victims are looking into possibilities of suing the Ukraine for not closing its airspace while it was clearly not safe. By failing to close the airspace, the Ukraine is complicit in their loved ones' death, according to the relatives. They also hope that a conviction against the country would urge uther countries to close their airspace in unsafe situations, RTL Nieuws reports.

The Dutch police are almost certain that a body found in a German forest, just across the border from the Limburg town of Susteren, over the weekend is the Dutch driver of a taxi found abandoned on the A12 near Zevenhuizen on Sunday morning. The taxi driver is a young man in his early 20s, AD reports.

The number of cross-border child abductions in the Netherlands showed a significant increase in 2016. Last year a total of 251 children were reported kidnapped to the Dutch center of international child abductions IKO, 14 more than in 2015, the center announced according to RTL Nieuws. 

Most of these abductions involved a parent taking a child abroad following a divorce or separation. Most of the abducted children were below the age of 6, the youngest one was two months old at the time of abduction. In 70 percent of the cases, the perpetrator is female.

Dutch railway company NS is circumventing the Dutch Tax Authorities using its subsidiary Abellio in Ireland, Trouw reported on Thursday. According to the newspaper, the Ministry of Finance previously instructed NS to stop these tax evasion practices.

Abellio set up an Irish company called Disa Assets Limited late last year, according to documents from the Irish Chamber of Commerce. NS used this company to fund trains for a tender on the German track. According to the newspaper, the sole purpose of this new subsidiary is to pay as little tax as possible.

In the run up to Remembrance Day on Thursday and Liberation Day on Friday, 89-year-old Dick Woudenberg decided to share his story of growing up in a pro-Hitler household. His parents were prominent members of Dutch fascist party NSB, which he himself later joined, and he grew up with a growing adoration for Adolf Hitler, Woudenberg said on RTL Late Night on Tuesday evening.
