The Presence light exhibition by artist and inventor Daan Roosegaarde in the Groninger Museum attracted 45 thousand people since opening on June 22nd. An average off 6 thousand people visited the museum per week to see the exhibition, compared to the museum's usual summer average of 4 thousand visitors per week, director Andreas Bluhm said to Dagblad van het Noorden.

Working with a 13 million euro budget provided by the Dutch government, Studio Roosergaarde of light artist Daan Roosegaarde turned the 32 kilometer long iconic Afsluitdijk into a beautiful and sustainable art installation with three separate projects - Gates of Light, Windvogel and Glowing Nature.

The Dutch government gave artist Daan Roosegaarde an budget of 13 million euros for an artwork along the famed Dutch Afsluitdijk. The artwork should turn the 32 kilometer long dike, which is being renewed and strengthened in the coming years, into a "Smart Highway".
