The Dutch government is giving the former WWII concentration camps in Amersfoort and Vught each a once-off amount of 1 million euros for expansion and education, State Secretary Paul Blokhuis of Public Health, Welfare and Sports announced, NOS reports.
Archeologists digging at former Nazi concentration camp Sobibor in western Poland found a pendant that may link a German girl to holocaust victim Anne Frank. The pendant contains a date of birth, a place of birth and on the other side the Jewish greeting Mazal Tov.
Anne Frank probably died somewhere in February 1945 from the effects of typhus, and not in March as was previously believed. This is according to research done by the Anne Frank Foundation into the last months of Anne and her sister Margot's lives.

The memorial center Camp Westerbork will celebrate its 30th year on Friday. The memorial center at the former transit camp of the Nazis was opened on April 12, 1983 by Queen Beatrix. During the war, 107,000 Jews and Gypsies were deported from Westerbork, but 102,000 did not return.
