With the replacement of the golden weather cock on Monday, Amsterdam's Zuiderkerk tower is officially fully restored. From this week the scaffolding around the building will be removed. The Zaans Museum purchased a work by French painter Claude Monet for 1.16 million euros, making it the most expensive purchase in the history of the museum. Titled, "Voorzaan and Westerhem," Monet painted the piece when he stayed in the city in 1871.
The main suspect of the sensational art heist in Rotterdam has been arrested in the United Kingdom. Adrian Procop who is suspected to have committed the robbery together with Radu Dogaru, has been on the run since November last year. Rumanian news media reported on Friday that police in Bucharest were notified of his arrest on Thursday by Interpol in Manchester.
