Three police officers involved in shooting an aggressive man to death in Purmerend in September last year, will not be prosecuted. The Public Prosecutor concluded that they were allowed to use their firearms because the suspect posed an acute threat, NOS reports.
An as yet unidentified person was shot and killed by a police officer in Purmerend on Friday morning. The police confirmed the shooting, but would say nothing further about the circumstances surrounding it, the Telegraaf reports.
Very little information is available about what happened and the identity of the victim. The shooting happened around 5:00 a.m. on Burgemeester D. Kooimanweg in Purmerend. Emergency services tried to resuscitate the victim, but it was to no avail.
