A baby that was found dead in a rubbish bag near the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam on August 3rd, has Asian roots, the police revealed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday night. A DNA investigation revealed that the baby boy's mother originally came from Asia, though exactly where in Asia is not yet clear. "For the sake of clarity: the mother may live in the Netherlands, but has her roots in Asia", the police said.
The Rotterdam police are determined to identify a baby found dead in a rubbish bag, hidden in some bushes in the parking lot next to the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam on Thursday. Investigators call on anyone with information to come forward, AD reports.
The gender and age of the child is still unclear. As is how or how long ago the baby died. It is also unclear whether the child was killed in a crime.
A plastic bag containing remains was found in some bushes near the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. Whether the remains are human has not been confirmed, but NOS reporter Robert Bas told the broadcaster he saw "something like a human skull".
A passerby reported the plastic bag to the police on Thursday morning. It is lying among some plants on the Antoine Platekade in Rotterdam-Zuid, close to the theater and the court.
A local resident told NOS that he noticed the bag on Tuesday already, but had no idea what was in it.
