Canadian woman caught with ball python in her bra at Schiphol Airport

Security workers caught a Canadian woman trying to smuggle a ball python onto a plane at Schiphol Airport. The woman had the snake hidden in her bra, the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) reported on Facebook.

The ball python, a protected species, was discovered under the woman’s clothes during a security check. She told the enforcement officers that she had found the snake at a hotel in Amsterdam.

“We highly doubt that,” the NVWA wrote. The NVWA inspectors confiscated the animal and filed a police report against the woman.

“You are not allowed to simply take protected animals with you on a trip. Not even if you found them on the street,” the NVWA said. “The snake is safe at an expert shelter.”
