Video: Five involved in serious two-car crash near Terneuzen, one was trapped in vehicle
Five people were involved in a serious traffic accident Saturday at about 5:03 p.m., according to the Veiligheidsregio Zeeland. The crash occurred on Knapzakweg near Terneuzen in Zeeland.
Authorities said two cars collided, sending one vehicle into a dry roadside ditch. One person was trapped in the wreckage for some time before emergency services were able to free them.
Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Trauma helicopters were also deployed as part of the emergency response. The condition of those involved has not been disclosed.
Knapzakweg, along with Reuzenhoeksedijk and Drieweg, remained closed for an extended period. Officials said the closures were necessary to allow for vehicle recovery. It was also reportedly needed to aid the police investigation into the cause of the crash.
